This Weekend - October 30-31

This weekend Butler University’s Symphony Orchestra will hold a FREE Halloween performance at Clowes Memorial Hall Sunday at 3 PM. This is free and open to the public. For more information, click here.

Also, Orchestras C & D, please feel free to wear your Halloween costume at Saturday’s rehearsal (Oct 30). We’ll see you there!

Fall Break Confusion?!

Orchestra A, C & D Families –

Some of you have asked if we have rehearsal tonight and on Saturday at Christel House since CHA is observing Fall Break. The answer is YES. We will hold regular orchestra rehearsals for Orchestra A this evening and for Orchestras C & D on Saturday.

Free tickets for MYO Families

Our Marketing Department has offered MYO Families and Teachers complimentary tickets to the ISO concert this Friday and Saturday night.

GREAT JOB EVERYONE!! We’re still tabulating our results and we will announce the total raised next week. Stay tuned!

Remember to thank your donors! If you need a letter acknowledging donations, we will have some available at rehearsals. You can also email Carol to request a copy.

For now, there are new pictures posted that were taken at an MYO fundraiser event last week hosted at The Watermark by the canal in downtown Indianapolis. The event raised about $8,700 for MYO!!

MYO FALL BREAK
Fall Break means that MYO will not hold Orchestra A rehearsal on Thursday, October 21 and Orchestras C & D Rehearsals on Saturday, October 23. Please make a note of it.

Butler Community Arts School CHAMBERFEST

What:

An exciting day of rehearsals, master classes, lunch, and public recital on the Butler campus.

Who:

For chamber musicians (strings) in grades 6-12 (must be part of an existing chamber group or ensemble and have worked on pieces together)

Where:

Butler University campus

When:

Saturday, November 20, 2010, 9:00am – 4:00pm

Public recital at 3:00pm
(Detailed schedule with rooms and times will be available in Nov.)

Tuition:

No charge. Lunch included.

Deadline:

Please enroll your group by October 30, 2010.

Purpose:

- To provide a chamber experience for string students from various schools and orchestras.
- To provide interaction with college faculty and students.
- To explore college and music careers as future options.

To Join The Fun:

To enroll a group, the orchestra teacher or school music teacher should contact Butler Community Arts School at 317/940-5500 or BCAS@butler.edu.

Chamber groups should arrive with one or two pieces already prepared and ready for coaching. The same piece(s) will be performed on the concert later on the same day.
